DADE CITY - After learning the man who choked her son to death wouldn't be prosecuted, Cathy Makowski said she didn't care about pursuing a lawsuit.

Parents Sue Over Son's Fatal Fight.

so remember kids, if you jump out of your car and start a fight the other person will be held responsible, i’m going to start a fight tomorrow! i dislike the idea of tort reform, not because the idea wouldn’t be good but because good cases will be limited in awards given out. if a hospital clearly messes up a surgery the family should not be limited to say $250,000. one, because they need to be shown there are real consequences and two because family members are entitled to more. now this case, even though four minutes is a tad excessive the man could have felt he would be in danger if he let go. this is one of those cases where the parents of the kid should have told him not the jump out of the car and mess with someone getting a big mac. because, we as americans love our big macs.

WASHINGTON - President Bush said Wednesday he was troubled by allegations that U.S. Marines had killed unarmed Iraqi civilians and that, "If in fact laws were broken, there will be punishment."

how about international law, can we start paying attention to that again? who’s laws are we going by, there new ones, ours, or international. because, if we’re going by ours i’m pretty sure you can make them up. or circumvent the constitution.

DERBY, England, May 31 (UPI) -- A Derby, England, retiree faces jail for refusing to pay taxes until the city cleans up her drug- and prostitution-infested neighbourhood, a report said.

United Press International - NewsTrack - Retiree cites drugs, sex for tax refusal.

this made me smile a little. see, if the retiree would have gotten her neighbours to not pay something probably would have been done. if you believe that the government is doing anything now, ha, i’ve got a 2 million dollar (US, of course) DVD to sell you. it’s special. i swear.

mission to pluto

i forgot, i wanted to write down a quasi mission statement for the blog. because, we all have a mission. mine is to sleep with jessica alba. yours, doesn’t matter… unless it’s getting me to sleep with jessica alba or vise versa. that and i need something to do.

-> i will post pretty much anything that catches my eye.

-> this site will be 2 parts political, 1 part personal, 1 part entertainment, with a sprinkle of general news and a dash of love. from me. to jessica alba. seriously, she’s the bee’s knees, yo.

-> i’ll put a blub under the link telling you of my vast disgust or enormous gratitude. or something in between, but, that’s no fun.

-> i’ll probably post 2–3 times a day to start out, i really don’t feel like getting burnt out early.

-> i might make a editorial post about various things. things that do stuff. stuff that does things. something like that, i don’t know where i was taking that. editorials. yeah, they’ll probably be the longer ones.

-> sorry for posting mostly cnn links. i’ll try to make the links various and plenty.

-> the language. i’ll try to make it concise. most of the time i’m tired or drunk, or both and don’t make my points clear. or, i make my posts unintentionally rude. when i want to be rude, i promise, you’ll be able to tell. sort of.

-> the language, part deux. i’ll try to keep swearing to a minimum. not because i want to be nice, but i believe it takes away from the post. it either pisses some people off or turns them off completely. not that i care if those people are reading my blog, just i will keep the swearing to a minimum. but, here’s some of my all-time favs:

dick – dickhead – fuck – motherfucker – fucktard – shitbrick – asswipe – bitch – goddamn

other than that, you’re on your own. i think i’ve covered mostly everything, if not, i’ll post my e-mail one of these days.

peace and hair grease, yo

you want the truth?

-> i changed some of my posts somewhat. i had someone check my post and he found them objectionable. not that i care, but i saw a few places where i could clear up the language a bit. did i mention he’s the un-funniest man on the planet? i didn’t? well, the more you know.

An Associated Press poll has found an impatient nation. It's a nation that gets antsy after five minutes on hold on the phone and 15 minutes max in a line. So say people in the survey.

CNN.com - U.S. is an impatient nation, poll finds - May 29, 2006.

how retarded is this? i don’t know what more, that they did a study on this or that there are people out there like this. by the way, there is a 62% chance that this survey will make me upset.

you want them, you got them: UPDATES!

-> i’m still having a little trouble with my technorati indexing. by the time i get it all straightened out the masses will have probably 30 days of back posts to read or i’ll have given up on the whole blogging experiment. i’m betting on the latter.

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- The "X-Men" mutants overpowered the human competition at the U.S. Memorial Day holiday box office in North America, as the final film in the comic-book trilogy logged the fourth-biggest opening of all time, according to studio estimates on Monday.

CNN.com - 'X-Men' sets Memorial Day record - May 29, 2006.

yay for tight wearing freaks everywhere! what? they are mutants? what? most of them don’t wear tights? they are super heros right? well, they’re fake. what? most all movies are fake? shut up.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- In a break with his counterparts in the House, the Senate's leader said Sunday the FBI was within its right to search the office of a congressman under investigation in a bribery case

CNN.com - Frist: Search of lawmaker's office is OK - May 28, 2006.

a republican agreeing with the president? no, say it ain’t so joe. er, bill. ok, this is just one of those hypocrisy deals. the majority of congress believe they should only have to deal with the campus cops, opps, my bad, capital police. nevermind the mans (Jefferson - D) been caught on tape accepting a bribe. but the NSA can spy on anybody it feels like to protect the government from terrorists? because heaven knows no congress person is a terrorist…

May 5, 2006 — After he smashed his Ford Mustang into a barrier near Capitol Hill early Thursday morning, Rhode Island Rep. Patrick Kennedy released a statement, saying that he had been disoriented by two prescription medications he had taken.

ABC News: Kennedy's Crash Highlights Dangers of Ambien.

i understand what a terrorist is. bare with me a minute here, i also know with a sexual predator is. people take a bunch of actions a lump them under one banner, so a person who takes a piss by the side of his car is no different from a person who rapes another person. while terrorism might fall under a small amount of activities, i’ll just say whenever you scare the crap out of someone who really didn’t want it, that’s terrorism. so threatening someone or making someone drive you to taco bell when they don’t want to are terroristic act which will not be to… wow, i can’t keep a straight face while typing that. point is, what a dolt.

A group of US volunteers that has been patrolling the frontier with Mexico to stop illegal immigrants has started building a fence along the border.

BBC NEWS | Americas | US 'militia' builds border fence.

hooray for rednecks. fuck the real problem facing us with immigration, just build a fence so they can cross somewhere else… or just wait until 9:30pm and the rednecks, opps, my bad, volunteers go home. my faith in this country would be shaken if i had any left.

wha's a IED between friends?

baghdad bush: everything is fine! we shall be victorious! nevermind those dead people on the streets, we just put them there to scare the terrorists. they aren’t even people. they’re paper cutouts. paper cutouts who kill terrorists. wow, this is hard work.

bueller? bueller? bueller?

BURBANK, California (AP) -- Paul Gleason, who played the go-to bad guy in "Trading Places" and the angry high school principal in "The Breakfast Club," has died. He was 67.

CNN.com - 'Die Hard,' 'Breakfast Club' actor Gleason dead at 67 - May 29, 2006.

aww, the detention dude died. now he won’t turn up in those annoying direct tv commercials.

side note, anyone notice how much make-up ben stein was wearing in his riff of “ferris bueller’s day off” for direct tv? there is just a point where they should just give up. you can’t pay attention to the commercial because you’ve laughing to hard, or pitying, whichever. seriously, he looked almost as bad as tammy fae.

burning bush

a difficult thing to put your head around is the Bush presidency.

one day you are talking about how incompetent it is. the next time you are talking about how stupid he is. the next day how clever he is at acting stupid. it goes on from this.

it is difficult sometimes to see this. not because it is all untrue, but because they haven't learned. the republicans are great at character assassination. they pick one thing and just pound the person on it (read: current Clinton sex life, 2004 election) until people get tired of it or they lose credibility. democrats, liberals, or anyone who doesn't like his policies should do this:

1.) pick one thing

2.) totally bash him on it endlessly

3.) ???

4.) profit!

lets face it, normal people confuse easily. we can't be changing our attack every month, even if it's true. we need to stick to one thing or we'll be known as weak, indecisive, or the dreaded flip-floppers.

i'd like to know who comes up with these various things. some guy is watching a porn with someone wearing a Hillary mask and he thinks to himself, "i bet we could really fuck up her day if we make something out of Bill and her sex life... ou, this is the bes... ahhhhhhh" or they have a bunch of people who sit in a room and think up this stuff. things to ponder my friends. things to ponder.

technorati sites of the day recap

-> american idol, lost - there are just some shows you don't get into. either because you're a snob or because you really can't see what other people see in it. i'm mostly the first one, but i've never watched the programs. so here are my two synopses of the programs:

american idol: a bunch of people try out for the show. the ones that are horribly bad are better than the ones that are good. the selection going on about 8 weeks to long. the winner is seleted by the most family members with speed dialers. you have to act like you won the miss america pagent.

lost: a bunch of people are trapped on an island. it is like gilligan's island, but darker. there are two groups that don't know about one another. it is like the parent trap, but lighter. they have a bunch of things in their way to find a way off the island.

-> indonesia - i don't have much to say on the subject. my heart goes out to the people involved in the terrible earthquake.

-> dixie chicks - i liked earls gotta die, it was a fun little country song. i think most of the nation was too hard on them after one of the women said something to the effect of "we are sorry the president came from texas." but i hate it when people make something out of relatively nothing. i think most of the nation figured out the Bush admin is incompetent -- why say something, take it back then say it louder than before just before your record release. oh wait, nevermind.
